About me
Hi! I am Ranu Jain. I’m an independent photographer, largely self-taught. My photography informs my larger observations of the world(s) I inhabit, be it the playful interconnectedness in nature, the role of identity including my own, as a fluid construct, or the way memory is invoked in the reshaping of a moment. It is a way of engaging that helps me look past the ordinariness of a thing, or an event, to enter its grandeur, to shine a possible light on its grace.
The sources of my inspiration are varied, ranging from poetry, literature, music, cinema to daily walks with my dog, my everyday practices and rituals, the simple moments of quiet and peace. I love to see what my photographic wanderings help me discover, rediscover, be amazed by, or possibly bring a sense of humanity into.
